Pete Alonso Unleashes His Frustration After Strikeout

The Mets Slugger Goes 0-for-4 Against Boston

New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso had a frustrating night at the plate on Tuesday, going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts against the Boston Red Sox. Alonso, who is known for his power hitting, was visibly frustrated after his third strikeout. He slammed his bat down in the dugout and let out a roar of anger.

Alonso's Struggles at the Plate

Alonso has been struggling at the plate in recent weeks. He is batting just .220 with four home runs and 17 RBIs in his last 20 games. His overall batting average has dropped to .263.

Alonso's struggles have coincided with the Mets' recent slide. The team has lost five of their last six games and is now 20-20 on the season.

The Mets' Frustration

The Mets are clearly frustrated with their recent play. After the game, manager Luis Rojas said that the team needs to "find a way to get better."

Rojas also said that he is confident that Alonso will break out of his slump soon.

“Pete is a great hitter,” Rojas said. “He’s going to get out of it.”

Alonso's Response

Alonso said that he is not worried about his recent struggles.

"I'm just trying to stay positive and keep working hard," Alonso said. "I know that I'll start hitting again soon."

The Mets' Outlook

The Mets are hoping that Alonso can break out of his slump soon. The team needs his power production in order to compete for a playoff spot.

The Mets are currently in third place in the NL East, 3.5 games behind the Atlanta Braves.
