Former Mexican Striker Jaime Lozano Retires From Coaching

Lozano Stepped Down After Mexico's Disappointing Copa America Performance

Jaime Lozano, the former head coach of the Mexico men's national soccer team, has announced his retirement from coaching. Lozano, 43, made the announcement on Tuesday, just over a month after Mexico was eliminated from the Copa America in the group stage.

Lozano had been under pressure to resign since Mexico's disappointing performance in the Copa America, where they finished last in their group with just one point. The team's performance was widely criticized, and Lozano was blamed for the team's poor tactics and lack of preparation.

Lozano had been in charge of the Mexico team since 2019, and he led the team to victory in the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup. However, he was unable to replicate that success in the Copa America, and his team's performance in the tournament ultimately led to his resignation.
