Wine enthusiasts worldwide raise a glass to 2024 Old Vine Day

Cap Classique bubbly stars as wine lovers gather virtually to celebrate August 1

Wine enthusiasts worldwide will be raising a glass of Cap Classique bubbly on August 1, to celebrate the eighth annual Old Vine Day. This year's festivities will once again be held virtually, with wine lovers encouraged to share their experiences on social media using the official hashtag #OldVineDay. Old Vine Day was launched in 2016 by the Old Vine Project (OVP), a non-profit organisation dedicated to preserving old vines and promoting the wines they produce. The OVP defines an old vine as one that is at least 35 years old, although many of the vines in the OVP's register are much older. Old vines are prized by winemakers for their ability to produce wines with greater depth of flavor and complexity than younger vines.
