Canucks acquire defenceman from Flames for draft pick
Zadorov expected to bolster Canucks' blue line
The Vancouver Canucks have acquired defenceman Nikita Zadorov from the Calgary Flames for a fifth-round pick in the 2024 NHL draft and a third-round pick in the 2026 draft.
Zadorov, 27, is a physical presence on the ice, known for his hard hits and strong defensive play. He has spent the past two seasons with the Flames, recording 10 goals and 25 assists in 135 games.
The Canucks are hoping that Zadorov can provide some stability to their defence, which has struggled at times this season. The team has allowed the fourth-most goals in the NHL, and they are currently out of playoff contention.
Zadorov is expected to make his debut with the Canucks on Saturday when they host the Edmonton Oilers.
