MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (AP) - Jaden McDaniels put up a career-best 25 points, leading the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 105-93 victory over the Phoenix Suns in their NBA playoff matchup.
McDaniels played a pivotal role in the Timberwolves' stifling defensive performance, showcasing his versatility by matching up against both Devin Booker and Kevin Durant at different points in the game. Despite facing intense pressure from these All-Star opponents, McDaniels held Booker to just 20 points on an inefficient 6-for-17 shooting.
McDaniels' offensive contributions were equally impressive, with the 22-year-old shooting an efficient 10-for-17 from the field. His performance highlights his emergence as a key player for the Timberwolves, who have now taken a 1-0 lead in the series against the higher-seeded Suns.
The Timberwolves' overall defensive effort was outstanding, limiting the Suns to just 93 points and forcing 17 turnovers. Anthony Edwards added 19 points and D'Angelo Russell chipped in with 18 for Minnesota, while Deandre Ayton scored a team-high 21 points for Phoenix.
